The Family Membership gives your children 4 shared outgoing letter credits every month to send thoughtful letters to other children through Kindness By Mail.

Credits can be used for one child or split between siblings, making this the most flexible option for families with more than one participating child.

Your children write their letters at home, you review and mail them to us with the required submission slips, and we review each letter before forwarding it in a new envelope.

Families do not choose specific recipients. Letters are matched through Kindness By Mail with another participating child in a similar age range, as close in age as possible based on available matches.

You’ll receive an email confirmation when each approved letter has been forwarded.

Good to know

• Credits expire at the end of each billing period and do not roll over
• Families provide postage when mailing letters to Kindness By Mail
• Replies do not use letter credits, but they are not guaranteed.
• Adults may not write directly to children
• Personal contact information may not be included in letters
• Recipient addresses are never shared
• Stationery is not included
• Cancel anytime from your account portal
• Available for U.S. mailing addresses only
• Each participating child needs their own child preference form

How it works

• One child or multiple siblings write kind letters at home.
• You review each letter and include the required submission slip with each one.
• You mail the letter to Kindness By Mail.
• We review the letter to make sure it follows our safety and privacy guidelines.
• If approved, we forward it to another participating child.
• If the other child replies, their reply is also reviewed before being forwarded to your child.
• If both families want to continue writing, future letters may continue through the same Kindness By Mail connection.
