Home addresses are never shared between families. Approved letters are forwarded in a new envelope, and replies come back through our PO Box.

Children’s letters are mailed to our PO Box and reviewed before forwarding. Parents may help their own child write, but adults may not write as pen pals to participating children.

Parents or guardians must review their child’s letter before mailing it to us.
No adult-to-child pen pal letters
Adults may not send their own pen pal letters to participating children.

What we look for before forwarding
Before a letter is forwarded, we review it for privacy, kindness, and appropriate content. We check for personal details, concerning language, and anything that does not follow our letter guidelines.
- We confirm the letter is from an active participating child.
- We make sure the letter is kind and respectful.
- We check for private details, such as home addresses, phone numbers, emails, school names, last names, or social media handles.
- We look for concerning, inappropriate, or unsuitable content.
- We place approved letters in a new envelope and forward them with our PO Box as the return address.
